Happy Mothers Day mom!

We were just hanging out at Grandma Fred's house and Payton decided to give the firemans pole a try.... The firemans pole got the best of her or maybe it was the grass down below. She sure is tough though.... we didn't take her to the doctor until the next day because she tends to be super dramatic about things. Sure enough, her arm was broken. She of course chose pink for the cast. Its so little and way cute. I now have three babies instead of just too. :) The next three weeks are gonna be a blast!

This is Payton's second year of snowboarding... we've only been able to take her twice this year, but shes surprisingly tons better than last year. She loves going, which works out well, because we don't give her much of a choice. We've loved being able to go up on the mountain as a family. Even i was able to go down the mountain a few times with my prego belly. Maybe next year we'll have Marls on a snowboard.

Wow.... our little Marley will soon be 1. With news of another little one (A boy!) soon to come, I haven't had a chance to update you all on how much Marley has grown in the past year. She is such a great baby.... always happy.... and full of expression. Definately a little angel. Shes been crawling for 3 months now. She loves to say hi to everyone she sees. Shes her daddy's girl - her eyes light up every time hes around. We love our little Marls so much. Happy Birthday (on March 19th) little one!

Lake Powell

This years Lake Powell trip was a lot of fun. Payton wasn't as scared of the water this year.... and the weather was perfect. We loved spending time with Branch and Dinah's family. They've been so awesome these past couple of years to let us tag along on their Lake Powell trips.

This years reunion was a blast. We're so lucky to live within 5 minutes of all this. I've been missin the malls, and the eating places since i've moved to Fairview, but these mountains make up for all of it. Its so beautiful this summer.... I can't wait to take advantage of it.

We spent this past weekend at Goblin Valley with the family. I didn't even know this place existed until this weekend. Its so crazy the things that Heavenly Father has created. He must have a sense of humor, because this place is crazy. Payton had a blast exploring... but mostly she just loved being with the family. Marley (our little angel baby) was so good the whole time. Happy Birthday to our little girl! Shes three years old.... wow. For her birthday this year she got her ears pierced. She's wanted earrings for a couple months now, and somehow she got it in her head that, thats what she was getting for her birthday. As soon as the girls put the gloves on, she started screaming. It was quite the experience, but she loves her earrings now, and shows them to everyone she talks to. She had a great birthday, and loved all the attention she got on her special day.

A quick plug to the two loves in my life. I'm grateful for the ups and downs of life that we share together. I can't wait for what more life has to bring. This year for christmas Payton got a snow board. We got the littlest snowboard and boots that they make and they're still huge on her. She loves being up on the mountain, in the snow, with her dad. We've been twice... Shes so small that she can't do much, but she loves every minute of it.

We finally found out! It's a girl! The due date is still around the 21st of March. I went in for a doctors appointment Thursday and was able to get an ultrasound scheduled for that same day. We can't wait to have another little addition to our family. Sorry to all of you, who I drove crazy by not finding out until now.

Brett's first deer. The deer hunt was actually in October, but Bretts been after me ever since to get his picture on here. So, here it it is. He found this deer hanging out up on the farm. It was one of the easiest hunts ever. He had tons of fun thanks to his cousin who took care of all the dirty work.

The first snow!

Yesterday it snowed for the first time this year. Payton and i just had to take advantage. We only got, maybe two inches, but still had lots of fun eating it and making snowmen. Payton thought it was crazy that you could actually eat the stuff. I'll soon have to teach her not to eat it if its yellow.

Halloween

This Halloween was great! Payton was a fairy princess. We went to the annual main street parade followed by trunk er treating. Payton thinks Halloween is awesome because she got her two favorite things... candy and she was able to dress up as a princess. Her dad scared her to death earlier in the week, so she was scared of anyone who had a mask on... I asked her at the end of the day if she liked Halloween, she said, "Yes, but the kids scare me." Thanks dad!

Baby News!

I put an exclamation on the title - baby news- although its not exciting at all. I had my first ultrasound on Thursday. Doctor said I should be about 20 weeks along so we should definately be able to see what we we're having. We'll... we don't know what it is yet. The baby was only measuring to be 15 weeks along. Which means that I wouldn't be due until March 21. So, instead of finding out the sex of the baby, I just found out that I'm going to be pregnant for an extra month. The ultrasound specialist tried really hard to see what the sex was, but the baby would'nt uncross its legs. At first she thought it was a girl, but she also thinks she may have seen a boy part a couple of times. She explained to us that the boy part doesn't actually show up predominately until about 16 weeks, so its really hard to tell this early.

The good news is that we took Payton with us and I think she actually understands now. Also, the baby, as far as they can see is healthy and strong. Thats all we could ask for. We can get another ultrasound a month from now, but probably won't, unless the doctor thinks we should.

Now that summers over, I really don't have much to update ya'll on. These pictures are of Payton and cousin Cambree at the park last week. Thank goodness for the park. The weathers been awesome lately so, we couldn't help but get out and enjoy it.

Going Back

I didn't think I'd ever find myself back at Snow College.... I loved the time I spent there and you could actually say that my life started there - when I met Brett.... but I really don't like school at all. I have a total of two classes left to take to graduate. I should have definitely done them while I was there. I've learned that I procrastinate things a little and school has been one of them. To those of you who are still in school... get it all done while you can because it gets a lot harder when kids and family come along.

I've always felt really strongly that i need to finish but haven't understood why. Hopefully I'll be able to graduate, finally.... I won't be done with school, but a big step closer. I'm grateful for such a good mother in-law and sister in laws that are so willing to help out with Payton.

I'm taking Chemistry and Fit for Life. Fit for Life should be a blast while being pregnant. I feel old and out of place, but it could be fun. Wish me luck. I'll keep ya updated.

Lake Powell

This months been crazy. I haven't been able to update things... because I haven't been home at all. This past weekend we were able to go to Lake Powell. This is our second year of being able to do this with Branch and his family. Powell is seriously amazing. Its so beautiful there and so much fun. We're so grateful for Branch and his family. They've been so nice to let us tag along these past two years. Payton is scared to death of the water, but still loved riding in the boat, and playing on the beach. Brett's turned pro at wakeboarding and I've just stayed at crappy... especially this summer, since I've gotta be careful with the babe in the belly. I'll use that as my excuse. :)

So, every year the Cox's have a family reunion and every year since I've been around just keeps getting better. This year Brett's sister, Callie, was in charge... she did a great job! We went to Jackson Hole. It was awesome. We went white water river rafting on the snake river and had tons of fun. (I wish I could have taken pictures) You shouldn't come back from a vacation more tired than when you left, but we had so fun and did so much that by the time we got back we were pooped. Thanks Callie!

Its about stinkin time! The Johnson Family is gonna have another baby. Its not official yet,I've been putting off going to the doctor, so hopefully I really am pregnant. We figure i'm two months along or maybe more, but who knows. I keep telling Payton theres a baby in my belly... and she just laughs and says, "no... silly mom." Brett's already praying for a boy. I'm just praying that it all goes well. We can't wait! We are super excited for this new part of our lives!

Oh How Fast They Grow!

I was watching Payton sleep the other day and it hit me how fast they grow up. She's so much fun right now. Shes learning so much... It seems like just yesterday that she was a baby. They truly do grow up so quickly. I've decided that I need to enjoy the moment more... because before I know it she'll be older and this moment, this age, will be gone. Sometimes I wish that I still had that little baby that I could hold and snuggle in my arms... the little baby that wouldn't sass back. I need to start enjoying more of those stressful terrrible two moments.

Bear Lake on the 4th!

This summer has definately been crazy so far. We don't usually have much going on around here. This past weekend we went to Bear Lake and had a lot of fun. Sorry, I wasn't able to take more pictures... We went wake boarding while we were there and I've decided that I am actually getting worse at it than I used to be. I'm not sure how that happened besides that in my older years, I've become more of a wimp. I worked really hard to get sun burned, and I did. Thank goodness, because its the middle of summer and my legs are still really white. Payton played in the sand all day long... for two days straight. We found sand in places I didn't think sand could get into.

OREGON

This past week we've been in Oregon.... if you haven't been there, you should definitely go sometime. We had tons of fun. It was cold, we didn't catch any crabs or see any whales and I had to wear a hat the whole time because my hair was a mess.... but it honestly was awesome! Payton kept saying, "Its a fun vacation!" She was scared of the waves, but loved all the starfish and seals. Thanks Callie for setting this all up. We won't ever forget the fun time we had there. We're blessed to be able to do things like this with people we love.

We're grateful for our Dad's and all the many, many, many things they do for us.

Payton and I are so grateful for Brett and for the great man that he is. Its sad that it takes a special day like Fathers Day for us to realize how blessed we are to have him in our lives. He works so hard every day, to provide a living for our family, without ever complaining. He's such an awesome, loving dad and an even better husband. We couldn't ever be without him, thank goodness we have eternity.

6 Random Things About Me.....
#1 Despite my shy, reserved exterior... I'm really quite crazy. Just hanging out with Payton, the nieces and nephews, or my sister always tends to bring out the funnier side of me.
#2 I have lazy eye... My left eye is a lazy eye. When I was younger I wore a patch over my eye. Now that I'm older I rarely notice it, unless I get very tired.... My eye can decide to take a break and droop wherever.
#3 Brett and I met snowboarding up the canyon. When we met I was dating, pretty seriously, one of his really good friends. I was devastated after he broke up with me... but little did I know that Heavenly Father had someone else for me. Its crazy how things work out. I Love You, Brett!
#4 I hate cooking. I'm not a bad cook, but for some reason I just really don't like to cook.
#5 I have a horrible attention span. I'm not kidding. I've been trying to work on this my whole life, but it hasn't gotten any better. So, if we're having a conversation and you can tell that I've stopped listening... don't be afraid to tell me. I don't do it on purpose.
#6 I'm not a morning person... I'm not really a night owl either. I just like my sleep. Luckily I was blessed with a child who likes her sleep too. Thanks Payton, for sleeping until 8:00 or 9:00 every morning.

The Trek

This past week Brett and I were able to go on a trek with our ward. I've been on a trek before, but I don't remember it being anything like this one. It was honestly amazing and spiritually overwhelming to see the youth in our ward. I'm grateful for the experience and grateful for the Lord's hand in all that happened there. Out of the youth and adults that were there.... I believe every single one of us was touched by the spirit... in a way that we never had been before. We are so blessed to have the Gospel in our lives.

#1 Anything that reminds me of being a kid again. Those were definately the good ol' days. Jumping on the trampoline, building sand castles, catching fish with your bare hands, lizard hunting with the kids, rolling around on the grass with Payton.... there are so many.

#2 Family. I love being with my family. Just hanging out with the neices and nephews or sitting outside visiting.

#3 Hiking pretty places. Nothing beats being outdoors, and enjoying the views. The narrows or just going up the canyon... i love it all.

#4 Being a mom. Payton is my life... and I'm loving every minute of it.

#5 Food. Not much to add to this one. Anything with lots of salt makes me happy. I really like spicy things and chinese food too.

#6 Ok I'll admit it, I'm kind of a game geek. I like playing games and it really ticks me off when Brett wins me at almost every game we play. One of these days I'll beat at Guitar Hero, you just wait.
